Incorporating strobe lighting in your people photography adds drama, clarity, and focus
to your portraits.
In this seminar you will learn both the theory of emulating natural light with a strobe, and the practical techniques for controlling and modifying its light output.
George will photograph an actress in four different setups and will explore the effect of
the direction of the light (front, side, back), the quality of the light (soft vs hard), and the
balance of light in the highlights with that in the shadows (lighting ratios). He will
establish guidelines for exposure, perspective, and for most effective light levels. The
impression of one believable light will be created both with one strobe, as well as with
two or three lights. George will also teach you how to direct the talent for a most
engaging and authentic portrait.
